This year’s Veteran Day reception, hosted by the Center for Military Education at Excelsior College, will recognize the sacrifices of our service members, veterans, and their families, and provide support to our nation’s disabled veterans and the organizations dedicated to their success.

This year’s speaker is Dr. Susan Vitti, a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Psychologist with the St. Albans Primary Care Team at the VA New York Harbor Health Care System. Dr. Vitti will discuss the challenges veterans face post-deployment, with particular attention on PTSD and other mental health issues, suicide, and substance abuse, and our nation’s social responsibility to take care of them.

Dr. Vitti is a license clinical psychologist who has worked for the Veterans Administration for the past decade.

The Center for Military Education will also collect handwritten veteran thank you cards to deliver to the Wounded Warrior Project.
